We're looking for an amazing Manager, Fleet Hotel Inventory & Newbuild. This Manager will be responsible to drive a diverse shipboard Hotel Inventory team to consistently deliver on financial compliance and par level expectations in order to support the shipboard hotel operation. They will guide and encourage Hotel Inventory leadership onboard to build a culture that drives all related inventory operations, in a compliant, safe and healthy environment in accordance with Princess brand standards and HESS protocols. They will closely monitor inventory levels and financial results to ensure targets are met and prepare newbuild first fit orders to ensure a successful launch and guest experience expectations are met.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for fleet oversight of all functions related to inventory management including but not limited to planning, forecasting, ordering, loading, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and controlling of all Hotel and Food and Beverage inventoried, and non-inventoried products.
  • Ensure standardized workflows, procedures and policies are reflected across the fleet in accordance with MSPM and HESS standards, and as directed by the shoreside operation.
  • Performs regular analytics to review inventory spikes and trends, creates resolution and escalates as needed to each specific shoreside department. Monitors the on-hand inventory of all hotel supplies against the company's established par levels for each ship and recommends adjusted ordering/issuing as needed. Assists all ships to make the necessary modifications to their future ordering because of upcoming itinerary changes.
  • Accountable for ensuring cost effectiveness and compliance with target inventory par levels and financial targets.
  • Ensures full physical inventories of all Food & Beverage, Hotel, Linen and Uniform central locations and Bar locations are conducted according to the inventory schedule established by the Hotel Inventory Manager.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the inventory operation to include:
  • Responsible for direct cost containment through the proper purchasing and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in developing shipboard Hotel Inventory budgets/forecasts.
  • Conducts spot inventory counts during ship visits and investigates any discrepancies.
  • Represents the department for any internal investigations of inventory loss, fraud, inappropriate practices/actions of the shipboard inventory team.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of Hotel Inventory Managers fleetwide in the best way to meet business demands and attends to any sudden required changes. Will also be responsible for creating an effective succession plan within the department and establish all training requirements.
  • Leads the ordering and receiving plan for hotel supplies for all newbuilds to include:
  • Develops, submits, and monitors progress of first-fit orders, in collaboration with the operating departments, for all newbuild vessels.
  • Ensures an inventory newbuild team is scheduled for the yard to receive and account for all anticipated orders and address any shortfalls.
  • Coordinates the loading of hotel stores at the yard for all newbuilds as well as the issuance and storing of inventory once onboard.
  • Develops and carries out a continuous shipboard visit plan to observe and evaluate Hotel Inventory Managers and inventory work procedures to ensure quality and compliance and service standards are met.
  • Monitors tasks expected of the shipboard inventory team to include:
    • Ensures that the shipboard team is preparing mid-month Consumption Summary Reports - an Excel report data generated via CrunchTime by all Hotel Inventory Managers, monitors Hotel supplies consumption and ensure the ships are on track to align with the monthly budget.
    • Ensures the shipboard team is completing as required, PAR Level Tracking Reports, Chemical Consumption Reports, Audit Reports and Uniform reports that tracks all issuances.
    • Supports the shipboard teams in coordinating with Supply Chain on the status and resolution of back orders that are impacting the onboard operation and guest experience. Will also regularly meet with Supply Chain to discuss inventory logistics, lead time and supply issues impacting the ship's operation.
  • Writes ship visit and monthly reports for distribution to shoreside and shipboard management that details findings, overall inventory control and financial performance, specific issues to address.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, Leadership and Engagement Skills
  • 3-5 years' experience in inventory, materials, systems, and logistics management
  • Knowledgeable of public health standards related to storeroom management of hotel items.
  • Knowledge of food & chemical storage guidelines
  • Previous experience in ordering cycles and developing and maintaining par stock levels.
  • Experience in analyzing costs, monthly reports and developing monthly forecasts and annual budgets from this data.
  • Inventory Management Certification preferred but experience in lieu accepted.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in cruise industry or land-based hotel operation.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in inventory, materials, systems, and logistics management (preferably shipboard operation)
  • Knowledge and experience of Inventory systems (Crunchtime preferred)
  • Knowledgeable and experience of public health standards related to storeroom management of hotel items and representation at government agency led inspections.
  • Knowledge and experience of food & chemical storage guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office/Outlook applications
  • Strong general management skills, including time management, information analysis, planning and organizing, decision-making, problem-solving, and delivery of results.
  • Comfortable following directions, guidelines, and work objectives.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations with effective written and oral communications skills.

  • Base Salary Range: $83,200.00to $112,300.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
